Unit 7- Introducing Music Sequencing

REVIEW ON MIXCRAFT 5.

Some advantages of Mix craft is easy to use and shows us how to mix pieces, Mix craft can Link audio, MIDI, and video clips together so they’ll select and move as a group, Mix craft can Record directly to high-quality compressed OGG files in Mix craft 5. OGG files can take up 1/10th of the hard drive space of uncompressed WAV recordings. This is ideal for collaborators exchanging projects over the internet, laptop users, schools, and anyone recording long speeches or conferences.

Mixcraft has lots of New Loops, including the following song kits: 70’s Funk, Chill, Cool Jazz, Surf Rock, Reggae, Vegas Rock, also Mix craft has New Instruments & Effects, including: Lounge Lizard Session, Messiah, Plutonic Tube EQ, Alien303 Bass Synthesizer, Shred Amp simulator, Mixer Interface: Mix craft has 5 powerful Mixer Interface provides a convenient and familiar interface for mixing a project. Complete with easy access to volume, pan, mute, and solo controls, as well as effects and instrument dialogs, our Mixer Interface also includes a 3-band EQ on every track, so you can get every instrument fitting perfectly into the mix and finally Mixcraft also has improved seamless looping mode lets you smoothly loop sections of your project with no audio gapping.

Some of mix crafts 5 disadvantages are that mixcrafts mixer isn’t reliable and does not do all the things it says it does. Mixcraft is also quite hard to work, its Slow working, and it does not have all the features you may need to use to mix. These are all bad about mixcraft because if you don't have all the right equipment then you will not be able to be fully happy with your results.

There are many different things that i like about mixcraft such as how easy it is to use such as loops which are intended, the amazing sound affects and many other things, such as the techniques you can use to paste and copy act.In conclusion i think that mix craft is amazing and great for beginners. such as the affects they can use. And its never ending extras.

To conclude this evaluation i think that its great if your looking for a DAW. Rating -8.5/10

The term is also applied to the written or printed musical notation used to indicate dynamics."

Assignment  2:

Firstly i clicked on all of the music samples of the song "La Roux-Bulletproof" to make the remix sound as much as the remix as possible. with this part of the process i only added a few audios from the song because there was only a few main parts which i actually think blended well will my genre of remix i wanted to do. After i completed the task of finding the parts what would blend with the remix i looked on some of the audio samples that garage band provided, such as Afghanistan style audio and claps etc..

Afterwards i began to look at the audios i am going to use for the remix and try to blend them to make a introduction. Beginning this process i needed to decide which genre of remix i will use, after a little while i was thinking i thought i would use the genre of Afghanistan with a hint of hip hop to make the remix sound quite modern.

Continuing i started to cut and split regions of both the garage band audios and the La Roux-Bulletproof audios. This process took a lot of time because you had to make sure that when you split the region it was in the righty place and was in time with all the other parts.

After i went back to the beginning of the piece  and played through the song to make sure the remix was in time and sounded okay. After i played the full piece i began to think that the music sounded rather odd and out of place, so i went through each sound and picked out the few audio's that did not go into the piece, these audio files was a few of the beats i added and "la roux machine and kick."

Afterwards i began to improve on the audios which has been supplied for doing this task, such as audios fm the song "La Roux-Bullietproof" I began to change these audios because so far my piece is full of audios from garage band. And i wanted the piece to sound more like the actual song, rather than just a remix with no material from "La Roux-Bullietproof".

Later on i decided that the singer/composer was too harsh while singing making it a really hard piece to listen to so i looked through EQ and began to change everything to the best speed,tempo,sharpness..etc.

Afterwards begin to think of the style i could add into the long so i begin to look at different cultures and what there audios sound like.

Then i played the song through to make sure it all sounded swell altogether,so i went through all the song and began to notice some didn't go so well together and it seemed asif the remix hardly had any of the actual song "Bulletproof"

After i clicked on the mixing button in the top left corner, when i clicked on this button a graph showed up at the bottom, which meant i could change the eq and give the mix effects to make the song sound unique and make her voice sound less harsh as usual.

Afterwards i decided that most of the remix was not in timing with each over so i decided to go through my song and put certain audio files to different places,so that the final piece will sound in time and sound better.

After i began toad effects such as what the output of sound is and where and how to put it. after a while i came to my decision that i was gonna use the output of music such as what ear it will come out of, so i added three of the same tracks in that same place just under eachover, but i put each of them so it will come out of different ears.

Furthermore i began to use a stutter effect to make the remix sound more frisky and unique, i did this by splitting the region and copying and pasting them into the piece, this made a affect and only took a few minutes!

Later on i used a audio files, called "falling rain synth lead.1" to add effect to the ending and make it sound like a different genre of music to make the remix sound unique.

Afterwards i began to loop tracks because i thought the song needed more effect and make it sound less plain and boring,so i began to add about 3 loops of the same audio which said "messed around" i chose to pick this audio because it will make the remix sound like a better quality.

Carrying on after i began to add effects such as a shaker, i added a shaker because i think that it adds more of a tropical feeling making the remix sound a better quality and has more of a variety of music types. the style the shaker gives is a african/tropical feel.

After i made a stutter to make the sequence sound more edgy and interesting. I did this by taking the audio i wanted, then i spited the region and pasted loads to make the stuttering affect.

Afterwards i added more la roux pieces and a Jamaican vibe audio from the sound files to add a culture vibe back into the piece.

Later on i began to think the begging was the only part which had a beat so i dragged the beat file to a longer time point so the remix is more evened out.

Carrying on after i began to change the beat i began to change the way the piece is played making it sound louder in one ear and changing the pitch.

This is my final mix outcome.
